We were blown away! We contacted Jay Feder who is the other Verragio dealer in Denver, knowing that customers can’t contact Verragio directly and sent them pictures of the damage they had done to the ring. We were appalled by the craftsmanship and what they had done to the ring and asked if Verragio would approve of this work and she said absolutely.
We tried to call Miro to try and understand what had happened and the manager informed us that they knew they had soldered the broken piece back together and then according to her, laser engraved the last part of Verragio into the ring and that’s why she discounted the service by $25. The ring had also become misshaped and more oblong than circle which explains why the ring was not fitting any tighter but the beautiful white gold it had once been had been tarnished into the color that cheap silver often turns too after you wear it for a bit. During this soldering it appears that they either tried to build their own part or had soldered off the lettering of Verragio on the inner band and then tried to engrave the lettering back on making it look like a really bad knockoff. It wasn’t until I got to the airport that I looked at the ring, which didn’t seem to fit any tighter, that the snapped sizer they said wouldn’t work was what was actually used and that instead of ordering a new one, they decided to try and solder the broken one back together into one piece. I drove up after work and made it to Miro minutes before closing and they were waiting with ring in hand and I was very excited but could also tell they were ready to close up and head out for the night so I put the ring on, thanked them and dashed out.
The following day we received a call from Miro telling us that the sizer had snapped in half when they were trying to attach it so they had to order another one from Verragio and that it may be a few more days until it was ready, again we were understanding of the scenario and were just looking forward to getting our ring back! The next day we received another call stating that the ring was ready for pick-up, we were both surprised but figured Verragio had overnighted the sizer or that maybe they had found another one in the shop, either way we were excited to pick it up because we were leaving for Cuba the next day and I could swing by and pick it up on the way to the airport. It was an uncomfortable interaction that we chalked up to a hectic stressful day working as a sales director myself I am more than understanding about stressful hectic days. They said that it would only take a few days before the ring was ready for pick up, after around a week later we called up Miro to ask how it was coming along and the gal that answered the phone asked “did we call you?” and my fiancé responded “no, I was just calling to see if it was coming along ok” and then the gal replied “then no, it isn’t ready and we are really busy so we will have to call you back”. We purchased our ring that same day with Danny’s help and the interaction was very positive! We took the ring back to Miro to be sized and the manager encouraged us that the Verragio sizer was the best option and that they could solder it on in the store so without much doubt that is what we decided on. He was knowledgeable about Verragio which was great because Miro is the premier boutique for Verragio and that is why we wanted to work with them. Our initial visit to Miro was pleasant, we had an appointment with Danny the gemologist and he was able to show us their collection of Verragio rings. Please read if you are going to Miro for a Verragio ring! This is the first time that I have written a negative review but the situation warrants it.
